  • Harnessing the Power of the GPU in Web Applications
  • Time: Wednesday @ 1:30pm | Room E-132

This session explores the status and potential of three initiatives that are unlocking the power of the GPU for web applications:

  • WebGL is now an established web technology bringing foundational, GPU-accelerated 3D to browsers across a wide diversity of platforms and devices
  • WebCL is an emerging JavaScript binding to OpenCL, enabling web applications to compile and execute C kernels across parallel CPUs and GPUs
  • NVIDIA path rendering extensions to OpenGL are enabling full GPU acceleration of vector based web graphics, particularly critical on mobile devices that need rapid touch responsiveness.
